Syria: DP World and GABC Discuss Accelerating Tartus Port Development Plans

Essa Kazim, Chairman of DP World, met with Qutaiba Ahmed Badawi of the Syrian General Authority for Borders and Customs (GABC) in Damascus to discuss progress in the development of Tartus Port. Under a 30-year concession agreement signed in July 2025, DP World will invest $800 million to modernize infrastructure, expand capacity, and introduce advanced digital systems, consolidating Tartus as a key regional gateway.
