With the aim of strengthening institutional coordination and projecting the development of port infrastructure in the southern zone, Empresa Portuaria Chacabuco (Emporcha) received a visit from the Regional Ministerial Secretary (Seremi) of Transport and Telecommunications of the Aysén Region, Verónica Figueroa.
During the day, the regional authority toured the port facilities, including the international passenger terminal and the floating dock sector, where she was able to learn firsthand about the operation of Latin America's first 100% electric tugboat operating in the bay. This visit allowed both entities to share visions on current operational management and, fundamentally, on the short, medium, and long-term investment projections that Emporcha leads for the region.
Seremi Verónica Figueroa highlighted the relevance of this meeting for coastal management and the maintenance of regional connectivity. "It was a very good experience to learn and see how these companies operate here in the region to provide them with support and backing, because they need infrastructure and to continue improving internal processes, but above all to manage the coast and maintain connectivity within the region."
For his part, the General Manager of Emporcha, Felipe Candia, valued the instance as a key step to generate synergies among the different actors of the regional economy. "For us, the visit was very positive. It is always good to meet with authorities and share the management we have carried out in the last period and, also, our expectations and projects that we want to carry out in the future, achieving synergy with the different sectors that participate in the economic activity of the region."
The visit concluded with the commitment to maintain an active working group that will allow expediting infrastructure improvement projects, ensuring that Emporcha continues to operate as the main logistical and transport engine of the southern zone, driving economic growth and the quality of life of all inhabitants of Aysén.
