Sociedad Puerto Industrial Aguadulce has completed ten years of operations in Buenaventura, establishing itself as one of the main port terminals on the Colombian Pacific. During this period, the port expanded its capacity for handling containerized cargo and incorporated infrastructure and technology to serve large vessels involved in international trade.
The terminal moved hundreds of thousands of containers last year and stood out for receiving large-scale ships, including one of the largest vessels to have called in Colombia. Additionally, it recently incorporated new gantry cranes considered among the tallest in South America, as part of a strategy aimed at strengthening the port's logistical competitiveness in the face of growing regional maritime trade.
However, the terminal's administration acknowledges that significant challenges still exist related to dredging, road infrastructure, basic services supply, and security. In light of this scenario, Aguadulce continues with yard expansion projects and new operational investments to further position Buenaventura as a strategic hub for Colombian foreign trade in the Pacific.
