The Board of Directors of Uruguay's National Ports Administration (ANP) held a meeting with the mayor of the Rivera department, Richard Sander. The objective of the meeting was to promote a better connection between maritime facilities and the aforementioned region of the country.
Details of the meeting were provided on the ANP website, where it was reported that "the physical package containing the documentation corresponding to the Integrated Action Program (PAI), the Strategic Environmental Report (IAE), and the draft Departmental Decree was handed over to the mayor of Rivera, with the purpose of being presented to the Ministry of Environment (MA) – Dinacea."
"This documentation constitutes the Territorial Planning Instrument (IOT) aimed at the recategorization of the land of plot N.º 322, located in the 9th Cadastral Section of the Rivera department, changing from the category of 'rural land potentially transformable into suburban' to 'suburban land for logistics uses and others permitted in the Southern ZAM'," the publication added.
Furthermore, it was highlighted that "considerations were exchanged regarding the various logistics and operational ventures being developed in the department, with special emphasis on the progress of the Rivera Inland Multimodal Dry Port Terminal (TMIPSR)."
Finally, it was communicated that "other topics of interest were addressed, including the Intra-port Railway Customs Traffic (TAFIP), an initiative being worked on jointly with the National Customs Directorate; the Framework Agreement and the Specific Agreement between the ANP and the Departmental Municipality of Rivera (IDR), linked to connectivity works and enclosures on the Dry Port property; as well as other development projects for the region," the publication concluded.
