Bulk Carrier Sinking in India Activates Maritime Rescue Operation

The Indian Coast Guard launched a search and rescue operation following the sinking of the Panamanian-flagged bulk carrier Ocean Winner off the country's eastern coast. The vessel was carrying 24 crew members (20 Chinese, 3 Myanmar, and 1 Bangladeshi) and sank 240 nautical miles from Paradip port after departing on Thursday with iron ore bound for Singapore. So far, two people have been rescued from life rafts.
