The Port opts for technological modernization with a new Service Control Center

This equipment, which involved an investment of 174,240 euros by the Port Authority of Santander (APS), is located in the new Operations and Port Police building, on the North Bank quay.

For the president of the port administration, César Díaz, the new space represents “a complete renovation of the technological infrastructure, improving both operational performance and system reliability.”

Santander 27-07-26. The president of the Port Authority of Santander (APS), César Díaz, reported this morning on the commissioning of the institution's new Service Control Center (CCS). A modern space located in the new Operations and Port Police building, on the North Bank quay, which, in Díaz's words, constitutes “the eyes and ears of the Port.”

The CCS is “a strategic element for the integrated management of our facilities, as it concentrates critical information and allows for anticipating incidents, offering a quick and effective response to any situation.” “It is an essential infrastructure to guarantee the security, efficiency, and competitiveness of our port,” he added.

This equipment, which involved an investment by the APS of 174,240 euros and was implemented by the company Enyca Seguridad, renews, according to the president of the APS, “the technological infrastructure, improving both operational performance and system reliability.”

The room is equipped with two operator workstations and a large format LED videowall that centralizes the control of all equipment.

The design also includes a technical room where three rack cabinets have been installed to house the IT and communications services and from which signals are distributed to the control room via structured cabling, ensuring a silent and orderly operating environment.

New Operations and Port Police building

The building, intended for the port police service and the service coordination center, has changing rooms, administrative areas, a break room, and space for the Process Control Center, as well as offices for port operations personnel, an administrative area, a meeting room, and restrooms.

With a total investment of 1.7 million euros, the Port, Díaz assures, now has unified facilities that allow for “more effective” coordination between the operations department, the port police, and the Service Coordination Center.

The action is part of those contemplated in the APS Investment Plan for the period 2026-2030. A document that also includes such notable works as the Raos 6 quay, the expansion of the automobile silo, or the rehabilitation or improvement of several quays, as well as other actions related to port buildings, sustainability, energy, digitalization, or innovation.
