HPA Completes Replacement of Drive Pulleys on Hamburg's Kattwyk Bridge
The Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) has completed the replacement of the drive pulleys on the Kattwyk railway bridge. Each drive drum weighs approximately 45 tons and has a diameter of about three meters. The installation required dismantling 48 suspension cables, each weighing two tons, and was carried out with a large crane mounted on a pontoon with a boom approximately 130 meters long.
