Council of Ministers Approves RCA for Valparaíso Hills Terminal
The Council of Ministers confirmed the Environmental Qualification Resolution (RCA) for the Terminal Cerros de Valparaíso (TCVAL) – Costanera Site project, after 12 years of technical and citizen debate. The initiative includes a 430-meter long berth and a 15.5-meter draft for New Panamax vessels, as well as a 1.2-kilometer coastal promenade and a new elevator on Arrayán hill. Port industry stakeholders praised the approval as an advancement for the country's infrastructure, although critical voices also emerged regarding its viability.
