A bulk carrier came under attack by unknown armed assailants in the southern Red Sea off Yemen on 5 July. No injuries among the crew were reported, and the vessel was not damaged during the incident.

The vessel involved in the incident has been identified by Marinetraffic as Palau-flagged Lady Naeima.
According to UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the attack occurred around 07:19 UTC, approximately 30 nautical miles southwest of Al Hudaydah (Hodeidah), Yemen. A skiff approached the vessel and opened fire, prompting the ship's armed security team to respond with defensive fire.
Subsequently, the skiff withdrew to a larger vessel located about two nautical miles away, which had its Automatic Identification System (AIS) switched off.
Lady Naeima is a 2000-built vessel that measures 137.03 meters in length and 23 meters in width. The vessel is sailing in ballast and has continued its voyage to Kandla Port in India, where it is scheduled to arrive on 12 July.
