Port Autonome de Lomé has a new Director General. By decision of the Togolese authorities, Kokou Edem Tengue was appointed to lead the institution, succeeding Rear Admiral Fogan Kodjo Adegnon, who has led the port platform in recent years and contributed to its development and influence.
An economist and chartered accountant by training, Kokou Edem Tengue has solid experience in the maritime, logistics, and economic fields.
The executive is the former CEO of Maersk Togo and previously served as Minister Delegate for Maritime Economy, giving him a thorough understanding of the challenges facing the port sector and those related to the competitiveness of African logistics platforms.
The new director's academic and professional background reflects internationally recognized experience. He holds degrees from Sciences Po Paris, the University of Birmingham, the University of Leicester, and an MBA from Imperial College London, in addition to several professional qualifications in management accounting, governance, and leadership.
As Minister Delegate for Maritime Economy, Kokou Edem Tengue handled numerous matters related to the development of the Port of Lomé and contributed to reforms aimed at strengthening the attractiveness of the Togolese port platform and consolidating its position as a leading logistics hub in West Africa.
"At the helm of PAL, he inherits a strategic tool for the national and sub-regional economy. His mission is in line with efforts undertaken to modernize infrastructure, accelerate the digitalization of services, improve the fluidity of port operations, and strengthen the quality of services offered to users and partners of the Lomé port community," announced Port Autonome de Lomé.
