NS United Kaiun Kaisha and Kawasaki Heavy Industries Test Mooring Management Using Tension Monitoring System for Ropes
NS United Kaiun Kaisha and Kawasaki Heavy Industries launched a joint demonstration of Kawasaki's Mooring Line Tension Monitoring System on the bulk carrier Sakura Bright (DWT: 99,623 metric tons). The system allows remote monitoring of mooring line tension, improving safety during berthing and reducing crew workload. The companies aim to evaluate the system's effectiveness on ocean-going vessels, especially in Australian ports with significant tension fluctuations.
