The Port of Mar del Plata has commenced a new road network recovery project, which this time will include repairs and pavement renovation across more than 3,000 square meters of streets, avenues, and docks.
The investment is approximately USD 311.4 thousand, will be funded by the Regional Port Consortium of Mar del Plata's own resources, has an execution period of 120 days, and is part of an integral plan aimed at the maintenance and improvement of vehicular circulation arteries.
"This project is part of the plan for the recovery and reorganization of the road ecosystem that our Port has been steadily carrying out with the objective of improving safety and traffic conditions, and each stage has a favorable impact on overall port operations," highlighted Marcos Gutiérrez, president of the Regional Port Consortium of Mar del Plata, recalling that it is a continuation of a road works program that already has a first stage completed.
The work plan began in a section of Prefectura Naval Argentina Avenue and will extend to Pesquero Dorrego and Pescadores streets, Fishing Vessel Mariluz II and Fishing Vessel Merlín; also sections of Pier N°1, Pier N°2, and the vehicle exit from Terminals 2 and 3.
In addition to this maintenance and improvement of the road network, other ongoing works include patching, vertical and horizontal road signage, the installation of speed bumps, and other measures that, in all cases, aim to provide a renewed traffic surface and better safety conditions for the circulation of vehicles and pedestrians.
