Galveston Wharves Inaugurates 430-Meter Pier with Arrival of MS Toledo
The Port of Galveston Wharves inaugurated its new 430-meter cargo pier at Pier 39-40 with the arrival of the 200-meter long Ro-Ro vessel MS Toledo. The expansion project, valued at $106 million and started in 2024, was financed with port operating revenues and a $36 million grant from the Texas Department of Transportation. The work will add nearly 30 acres to the previous 60-acre facility.
