The Executive Board of the World Organization of Cities and Logistics Platforms (WCOCL) ordered the immediate termination of Zofri S.A.'s status as a Full Member. The decision was formalized through an extraordinary resolution, which revokes the participation, representation, and support that the company maintained under said status.
According to the entity's document, the termination of the bond responds to the need to safeguard coherence, trust, and continuity in the initiatives developed by the institution.
"The communication received from Zofri S.A. shows a position that, under current circumstances, does not allow for ensuring the level of institutional support and commitment that should reasonably exist between the organization and a Full Member," argued the Executive Board in the official text.
Among the initiatives affected by the cessation of the alliance is the tender for the Reverse Logistics and Circular Economy project - aimed at generating investments for Zofri within the framework of the Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor – and the holding of the International Symposium "Iquique as a Hub for Circular Economies and Reverse Logistics for Latin America."
Likewise, the WCOCL indicated that the Chilean company was participating in the coordination of actions for the 11th World Forum scheduled to be held at the end of this year in Saltillo, Mexico.
"Maintaining Zofri S.A.'s status as a Full Member under current circumstances could create a situation of lack of correspondence between said status and the effective level of participation and institutional commitment required," as stated in the letter.
The cessation agreement was unanimously approved by the Executive Board. The ruling details that the decision seeks to safeguard the fulfillment of current programs and the proper execution of its international cooperation activities.
"It is up to the Executive Board to adopt the necessary decisions to preserve institutional integrity, trust among its members, the continuity of its programs, and the proper execution of international activities promoted by the organization," states the declaration approved by the members of the executive board.
With the entry into force of this ruling, Zofri S.A. immediately ceases to have all participation, representation, support, and institutional coordination associated with its previous status within the international entity.
