The Bioceanic Road Corridor of route PY15, in the Mariscal Estigarribia–Pozo Hondo section, shows almost 90% progress in the formation of the main embankment of Lot 2. To date, 53 kilometers of platform have been consolidated out of the 59 planned.
This section is being carried out by the Consorcio Chaqueño del Norte, comprised of the companies LT S.A., Constructora Heisecke S.A., and Benito Roggio e Hijos S.A. Its execution is part of a strategic intervention to strengthen regional connectivity and position the Paraguayan Chaco as a key hub for cargo transport in South America.
Regarding the road structure, soil stabilization tasks with lime have reached 88% progress, equivalent to 52 kilometers processed and released. In turn, the cement-soil layer registers 69% completion, with 41 kilometers ready for the next stages.
The placement of the stone base has reached 36% with 21 kilometers completed. In parallel, the final paving phase has begun, with the first 6 kilometers of asphalt concrete base concluded.
The project is financed through the Financial Fund for the Development of the River Plate Basin (Fonplata). In addition to its impact on connectivity, it generates economic dynamism in the Boquerón department through the creation of direct jobs, with the participation of local labor and indigenous communities in the area.
Once completed, the new highway will improve commercial flow between the Atlantic ports in Brazil and the Pacific ports in Chile, reducing logistics costs and strengthening Paraguay's strategic role in the region.
This third section of route PY15 has a total length of 224 kilometers, divided into four execution lots, all in the Boquerón department. It is one of the most relevant road works for regional integration, due to its ability to connect markets, shorten distances, and boost international cargo transport.
