Ecuador and Japan Advance in the Creation of the Economic and Commercial Committee to Strengthen Their Trade Relations
Ecuador and Japan signed a memorandum of understanding to create the Economic and Commercial Committee on June 16 in Quito, a preliminary step towards a possible bilateral trade agreement. This dialogue mechanism will promote trade, investment, and economic cooperation. Currently, Ecuador exports shrimp, broccoli, bananas, and cocoa to Japan, while importing industrial and technological goods. The initiative will strengthen Ecuador's maritime and logistical connectivity within international supply chains.
