Ports America expressed its gratitude to Matthew Leech for his leadership and contributions over the past four years as CEO, a position from which he has just resigned. The company has appointed Scott P. Anderson as interim CEO, effective immediately. The outgoing executive will support a coordinated transfer over the next few weeks to help ensure continuity.
During Leech's leadership, the company made significant advances in safety, service execution, and operational performance. Under his discipline, teams achieved record safety performance, improved the way work is carried out at terminals, and strengthened the ability to serve customers and meet commitments across the business, the firm stated.
Anderson has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ports America Group since 2024 and brings a deep understanding of the company, its priorities, and the opportunities ahead.
"Our focus remains constant and clear: to deliver excellent service to our customers, maintain a strong commitment to safety, and support the teams and people who make our work possible every day," Scott declared.
Ports America is a terminal operator and stevedore with operations in more than 30 ports and 70 locations across the United States.
