The Matarani Port Terminal will take a significant step towards modernizing its operational infrastructure. Through an estimated investment exceeding one million dollars (USD 1,000,000), the port will implement key improvements in the Mineral System of Berth C, with the aim of strengthening efficiency in the handling and storage of mining cargo.
Among the main technological innovations contemplated in this project is the incorporation of a state-of-the-art infrared dryer, as well as the inclusion of new loads in the current system. It should be noted that these operational optimizations will not increase the terminal's previously approved capacity, but will strictly focus on making processes more agile, safer, and more competitive.
The viability of this initiative has the regulatory backing of the National Service for Environmental Certification for Sustainable Investments (Senace). The entity approved the corresponding Sustaining Technical Report (ITS), a management instrument that authorizes modifications in investment projects when it is demonstrated that environmental impacts are not significant.
Likewise, the project has received the favorable and binding technical opinion from the competent authorities in the sector, guaranteeing compliance with the highest regulatory standards.
Boost to the port sector: This investment is promoted under the supervision of the National Port Authority (APN), an entity attached to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), reaffirming the commitment of the State and the private sector to continue promoting the competitiveness and sustainable development of ports in Peru.
