Three sailors were gravely injured in a drone strike on the ro-ro cargo vessel Nadezhda as it sailed near the Russian port of Novorossiysk on 3 August.

The vessel was attacked while sailing from Novorossiysk to Samsun, about 20 nautical miles off Novorossiysk, according to the Turkish Maritime Authority. All 22 crew members were evacuated to the port; three sustained serious injuries. The attack also started a fire aboard the vessel that had not been extinguished at the time of reporting.
No party has claimed responsibility for the attack. Turkish authorities continue to closely monitor the situation.
The Nadezhda is a Cameroon-flagged ro-ro cargo vessel built in 1978. It has a length of 118.73 metres, a beam of 18.81 metres, and a gross tonnage of 5,613.
