Marlink has been chosen by TUI Cruises to deliver digital connectivity services for Mein Schiff Flow, the cruise line's latest addition.
The global managed services provider will supply a hybrid connectivity platform combining multiple satellite technologies for the new InTUItion-class ship.
Mein Schiff Flow will be named in Trieste, Italy, on June 20. The vessel will operate with an integrated connectivity environment that combines Starlink LEO services, GEO VSAT and MSS backup connectivity managed through Marlink's network management system. TUI Cruises plans to livestream the naming ceremony via Starlink.
Marlink's unified platform will be delivered through XChange NextGen technology. The hybrid network architecture aims to maximise service availability across varying operating environments, including remote destinations. The system enables dynamic traffic management based on network availability, application priority and operational requirements.
"Today's cruise guests expect the same digital experience at sea as they enjoy onshore. By combining multi-orbit connectivity, intelligent traffic management and resilient onboard infrastructure, we're helping TUI Cruises deliver a consistently connected experience while supporting critical ship operations wherever Mein Schiff Flow sails," said Tore Morten Olsen, president Maritime, Marlink.
The deployment extends the relationship between Marlink and TUI Cruises, which began supporting the cruise line's digital transformation in 2018. This included deploying Sealink NextGen aboard the InTUItion-class vessel Mein Schiff Relax in 2024. Marlink now supports TUI Cruises' latest generation vessels through hybrid connectivity and onboard digital infrastructure.
