The second phase of the Port of Progreso expansion and modernization project is advancing. As part of the initiative's development, the filling of the first 40-hectare platform has commenced, utilizing material from the ongoing dredging.
This structure constitutes one of the first areas reclaimed from the sea that will be part of the new port infrastructure.
The work is being carried out according to the established schedule, prioritizing safety, environmental protection, and compliance with the project's technical specifications, as assured by the National Port System Administration (Asipona) Progreso.
Furthermore, the second phase of deepening is being executed, aiming to increase the port's operational capacity to meet the growing demand of national and international maritime trade.
The dredging operations will improve navigation conditions and continue the development of the necessary infrastructure for the Port's expansion, increasing its logistical competitiveness and fostering the region's economic growth.
