The Panama Canal closed, this Thursday, July 23, 2026, the period for receiving documents from companies interested in participating in the pre-qualification process for the development of the Energy Corridor.
The documentation will be evaluated according to the legal, technical, and financial criteria established in the Pre-qualification Document and its amendments. Once this evaluation is completed, the Panama Canal Authority will publish the list of pre-qualified companies with which it will advance to the next phase of the process, focused on interaction and dialogue with the pre-qualified parties.
The Energy Corridor initiative seeks to prepare Panama to respond to the evolution of the global energy market by strengthening the logistics platform of the Panama Canal Authority, particularly for the transportation of natural gas liquids.
The proposal contemplates the development of capacities that complement the Panama Canal and opens spaces for the participation of companies interested in promoting strategic projects that contribute to the country's growth and competitiveness.
Since the publication of the Pre-qualification Document on January 30, 2026, the process has progressed in accordance with the provisions of the Concessions Regulations of the Panama Canal Authority.
During this stage, a period of clarifications was developed, three amendments were issued, and pre-qualification documentation was received. The pre-qualification procedure seeks to guarantee conditions of transparency and competitiveness of the process and at the same time promotes participation among interested companies that have the capacity to execute this initiative.
