Panama's Exports Reach Second Best Level in 16 Years
Panama recorded exports of USD 435.4 million from January to May 2026, the second highest value for that period since 2010, according to the Commercial Intelligence Office of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries. Total exports reached USD 581.9 million, driven by a 16.4% growth in value-added exports from special regimes. Frozen shrimp, bananas, and teak lead the exportable offerings, with the United States as the main destination, accounting for an 18.7% share.
