Stolt Tankers announced that it has received the first vessel of a series totaling eight units, which was ordered from the Chinese shipyard Nantong Xiangyu.
In detail, it is a 38,000 DWT chemical tanker based on FKAB Marine Design's T72 design. The vessel features 30 cargo tank segregations and is equipped with efficiency devices to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
Furthermore, the vessel complies with IMO Tier III requirements, includes shore power connectivity, and has been prepared for a future conversion to methanol fuel and the integration of UPS batteries.
According to Stolt Tankers, the other seven remaining vessels - which are part of the order placed with the Chinese shipbuilder - will be completed and delivered by 2029.
