The Port of Long Beach has opened a public consultation for the project proposed by Total Terminals International for the redevelopment of its Pier T marine terminal.
The proposed project would rehabilitate the terminal's infrastructure, adapt it for cargo transport using zero-emission technologies, and encourage greater utilization of rail at the pier.
This is one of the future projects at the Port of Long Beach designed to boost sustainability and increase capacity to facilitate projected growth in container volume, while limiting the impact of terminal operations on the community and the environment.
Comments collected will be used to prepare an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on the project.
This summer, the Port will host an in-person open house and informational meeting, as well as a separate virtual informational meeting.
