CMA CGM Vessel Damaged by Missile Strike in Hormuz Strait Faces Scrapping
A CMA CGM container ship struck by a missile in the Strait of Hormuz in early May sustained severe damage that may lead to scrapping, according to the French shipping group's CEO Rodolphe Saade. The attack on the CMA CGM San Antonio injured crew members who were evacuated. After weeks stranded in the strait, the vessel was escorted to safety. CMA CGM, the world's third-largest container shipping line, had 14 ships inside the Gulf at the start of the Iran war and does not plan to resume operations there for now.
