Yinson Production celebrated the christening ceremony of the FSO PTSC Lac Da Vang, marking a significant milestone before the vessel's deployment to the Lac Da Vang project, offshore Vietnam.
The ceremony marks an important stage in the vessel's construction and reflects the collective effort of the project teams, partners, and stakeholders who have been involved in bringing the project to this phase.
The FSO PTSC LDV, contracted by Murphy Cuu Long Bac Oil Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Murphy Oil Corporation, will provide storage and offloading services at the Lac Da Vang field, located in Block 15-1/05 offshore Vietnam. The contract has an initial duration of 10 years, with an option to extend for up to five additional years.
Designed as a newbuild double-hull vessel with a storage capacity of approximately 500,000 barrels, the FSO PTSC LDV incorporates advanced dual-fuel systems to optimize operational efficiency and contribute to emissions reduction.
The christening ceremony was held after the vessel's launch at Nantong StrongWind Shipyard in China earlier this year. As the project progresses through the final stages of outfitting, commissioning, and testing, the FSO PTSC LDV is preparing to set sail and be deployed to the Lac Da Vang field, offshore Vietnam, where it is expected to commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Flemming Guiducci Grønnegaard, CEO of Yinson Production, stated that "the naming of the FSO PTSC LDV vessel marks a significant milestone on the path to its deployment and the commencement of its operations at the Lac Da Vang field. This project reflects the strength of our alliance with PTSC and the dedication of the teams who have worked tirelessly to bring the vessel to this stage. We look forward to contributing to meeting Vietnam's growing energy needs for many years to come."
Representatives from Yinson Production, PTSC, Murphy Oil Corporation, PetroVietnam, Ocean Marine & Offshore Investment, Nantong StrongWind Shipyard, and other project stakeholders attended the naming ceremony.
