Royal Caribbean's Ovation of the Seas: Medical evacuation off British Columbia coast
A passenger aboard Royal Caribbean's Ovation of the Seas was medically evacuated by helicopter on August 9th while sailing approximately 100 km northwest of Tofino, British Columbia. The Canadian Armed Forces responded with a CH-149 Cormorant search-and-rescue helicopter and CC-295 Kingfisher aircraft. The passenger's spouse was also evacuated, and both were flown to hospital in Victoria BC for further medical treatment.
