The volume of cargo mobilized in Turkish ports reached 46.91 million tons in June 2026, according to the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu. The volume of container movement reached 1.19 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) in the same period, as detailed by the authority. Solid bulk handling stood at 13.25 million tons, while general cargo movement was recorded at 6.77 million tons. Turkish ports mobilized 48.2 million tons of cargo and 1.18 million TEU of containers in April, setting an all-time record for that month, according to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. In the period from January to April, cargo handled in ports increased by 2.1% year-on-year, reaching 185.6 million tons, while container movement increased by 2.4%, standing at 4.55 million TEU. Uraloglu stated that Turkish ports continue to add value to the country's production and exports through investments that strengthen trade and maritime infrastructure.
