In the second quarter, Tallinna Sadam (Port of Tallinn) achieved sales revenue of USD 35.8 million, an adjusted EBITDA of USD 14 million, and a profit of USD 1.6 million. Sales revenue increased by 5.4%, adjusted EBITDA decreased by 11%, and profit fell by 59% compared to the previous year.
Revenue for the six months was USD 68 million (+2.4%), adjusted EBITDA was USD 30 million (-14%), and profit was USD 7 million (-42%).
In the second quarter, the volume of investments exceeded USD 2.3 million, and over six months, it was close to USD 4.6 million.
Meanwhile, in the second quarter of 2026, the number of passengers decreased by 1.1%, cargo volume by 2.3%, and ship calls by 3.1%. The ferry segment showed stable growth in the number of trips (+1.2%), passengers by 1.8%, and vehicles by 2.8%. The icebreaker Botnica was chartered 44% of the time, double that of the previous year.
The rise in fuel prices and extraordinary ship repairs, necessary due to ice conditions, affected profitability in the second quarter. Profit was also reduced by the withdrawal of a vessel from the Paldiski-Kapellskär route and the decrease in cargo volume. Additionally, the results of the comparison period were affected by an extraordinary gain recorded in the second quarter of the previous year from the sale of land for the construction of the Rail Baltica cargo terminal in the Port of Muuga.
"Significant growth in the cruise business and the successful chartering of the icebreaker Botnica supported the increase in revenue in the second quarter," commented Valdo Kalm, Chairman of the Management Board of the Port of Tallinn, regarding the results.
