Talcahuano Terminal Portuario S.A. (TTPSA) recently completed the implementation of its Maritime Cyber Risk Management System, an initiative developed within the framework of the guidelines established by Directemar's Maritime Circular O-75/006 and aimed at strengthening the security of processes that support the operational continuity of the port facility.
The work carried out included the identification of critical assets, the analysis of risks associated with technological and operational systems, as well as the definition of measures aimed at improving the management and monitoring of cyber threats that could affect port operations.
The implementation of this system will provide a methodological basis for continuous risk assessment, control updates, and the progressive strengthening of organizational capabilities related to maritime cybersecurity.
The increasing integration between information technologies, operational systems, and logistics processes has generated new challenges for organizations linked to the maritime-port sector, making it necessary to incorporate management mechanisms that contribute to adequate risk identification and treatment.
In this context, TTPSA will continue to develop actions aimed at strengthening its internal processes, promoting continuous improvement and compliance with the standards and guidelines applicable to port activity.
Cybersecurity currently constitutes a relevant element within modern organizational management, contributing to the protection of operational support systems and the strengthening of the continuity of services that are part of the maritime logistics chain.
