The Port of Aveiro (Portugal) and the City Council of Salamanca (Spain) signed a Collaboration Protocol to strengthen the strategic collaboration between the maritime facility and the Salamanca Intermodal Railway Platform (Dry Port).
Details of the agreement were provided on the Portuguese port's website, stating that "this collaboration will allow for the continued development of projects of common interest, the promotion of joint commercial actions, cooperation in applying for European funds, and the implementation of integrated logistics solutions that strengthen railway connectivity between Portugal and Spain."
It was also added that "at the end of the signing ceremony, the Board of Directors also had the opportunity to visit the ZALDESA (Dry Port) facilities, gaining first-hand knowledge of its operational capabilities and the strategic potential of this logistics infrastructure."
The protocol was signed by the Mayor of Salamanca, Carlos García Carbayo, and the President of the Board of Directors of the Port of Aveiro, Teresa Cardoso.
