The National Petroleum Company (Enap) has incorporated two new refueller trucks into operations at the Vinapu Terminal, an infrastructure considered key for the energy supply of Rapa Nui and the air connectivity of the island territory.
These units, with a capacity of 18 cubic meters, are designed exclusively for direct loading to aircraft and incorporate high technological and safety standards of the industry, which ensures that the supply of aviation fuel (KeroJet) is carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with current regulations.
"The first vehicle began operation in January of this year, while the second was added this month, thus completing a renewal that is strategic for airport operations and the island's connection. In this way, we are fulfilling Enap's commitment to bring energy to every territory of our country," said Mauricio Naveas, Logistics Manager of the state-owned company.
The Vinapu Terminal, in addition to being the only facility responsible for direct supply to aircraft, supplies 100% of the fuels required for mobility on the island.
The facilities, located in the Vinapu Bay sector, have six refined product tanks with a total storage capacity of 4,800 cubic meters, which ensures the supply of essential fuels for the community and productive activities. It also has a maritime terminal with an eight-inch submarine pipeline approximately 500 meters long, as well as an anchorage with capacity to receive tanker ships up to 110 meters in length, 10 meters in draft, and 10,000 DWT.
"The renewal of the refueller trucks is part of the development that Enap is undertaking to create modern, safe logistics prepared to respond to the future challenges of the industry, while also strengthening essential infrastructure for the island community," added Naveas.
