DP World in San Antonio received the Explora Logística Seal for its contribution to achieving the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its open-door program for technical-professional high school students, to whom it offers structured technical visits. It is the first port terminal in Chile to obtain it.
The seal, promoted by Conecta Logística and Chile Dual, recognizes affiliated companies that open their doors to high school students, offering them structured technical visits. This initiative seeks to inspire and motivate new generations to join the logistics sector.
Julio Tenesaca, HR senior director at DP World in San Antonio, explained that "this recognition reflects our long-term corporate vision, in which sustainability, human capital development, and community engagement are central to our purpose. Furthermore, the commitment and participation of our team of volunteers have been fundamental to opening our doors and generating meaningful experiences for students."
Yesenia Bustos, Sustainability Specialist at DP World in San Antonio, stated that "this program, which allows us to connect with young people and communities, began in 2024, and to date, we have hosted nearly a thousand students from high schools, institutes, and universities throughout Chile. On average, we have three visits per month, with about 30 people per visit. A portion of them are from technical-professional high schools, which is the seal awarded by Conecta Logística and Chile Dual to DP World in San Antonio."
Bustos added that "visits to the terminal are carried out under all necessary safety standards to ensure that students enjoy an educational activity that is of great value to their academic training."
For her part, Mabel Leva, executive director of Conecta Logística, stated that "the Explora Logística Seal recognizes the commitment of companies like DP World San Antonio to the training of technical-professional high school students, bringing the industry closer to new generations and fostering new vocations for the sector."
For Andrea Garrido, executive director of Fundación ChileDual, "this seal recognizes a commitment: that the training of future technicians is a shared responsibility between the educational system and the productive sector. Experiences like DP World's demonstrate that when companies open their doors and share their knowledge, they contribute concretely to strengthening the educational paths of new generations."
"Today, Chile faces an urgent challenge: the youth unemployment rate reaches 24.6%, while nearly 75,000 students graduate each year from Technical-Professional Secondary Education with the challenge of entering the workforce. Faced with this reality, we need more companies to open their doors, share their experience, and actively get involved in training the talent that Chile needs," concluded Garrido.
