At Maersk, we are committed to providing early visibility of potential supply chain impacts to support your planning and decision-making.
Please be informed that DB InfraGO has scheduled major modernization works on the Bremen–Bremerhaven rail corridor July to December 2027. The project includes the renewal of tracks, switches, signaling and other rail infrastructure to improve the long-term reliability, capacity and resilience of this key freight corridor serving the ports of Bremerhaven and Bremen.
While these investments will strengthen the network over time, rail operations are expected to face capacity constraints and operational adjustments during the construction period. Our priority will be to minimize disruption to your supply chain by exploring rerouting opportunities and alternative transport solutions wherever feasible. However, additional costs may arise for affected shipments as a result of the measures required to maintain service continuity.
As planning and mitigation measures are still being finalized, the exact operational and cost impact is not yet known. We will continue to assess developments and communicate any applicable surcharges or service adjustments as soon as they are confirmed.
We remain committed to supporting your supply chain and will provide further updates as additional information becomes available.
