The Inter-American Chamber of National Associations of Maritime Agents – CIANAM and the Peruvian Association of Maritime Agents held the symposium "International Maritime Trade: Reshaping the Geopolitical Scenario" on May 21 in Lima, an event that brought together leaders from the maritime, port, and logistics sectors of Latin America to analyze the challenges of global trade. The event featured the participation of the Maritime Chamber of Ecuador, represented by its President, Eng. Andrés Padilla, and its Executive Director, VAdm. Milton Lalama, strengthening Ecuador's institutional presence within regional maritime integration and logistics cooperation spaces.
CAMAE's participation took place at the InterContinental Lima Miraflores, where the institution addressed the current situation of ports in Ecuador and the challenges related to competitiveness, maritime connectivity, and logistics modernization. The agenda also included interventions by international authorities and leaders such as Estenio Pinzás Vidmar, Fernando Con y Ledesma, Fulvio Carlini, and the Peruvian Minister of Transport and Communications, Aldo Prieto Barrera, who analyzed the impact of geopolitics on maritime routes and global supply chains.
The symposium allowed for an analysis of how global geopolitical reconfiguration is directly impacting maritime trade, international routes, and the dynamics of logistics chains. Likewise, the technical discussions highlighted the need to strengthen regional cooperation, modernize port infrastructure, and promote resilient logistics strategies that allow Latin American countries to adapt to the new scenarios of international trade and global maritime competitiveness.
