Peru's Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), through the National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa), successfully secured 19 new sanitary and phytosanitary accesses for Peruvian agricultural products in international markets.
These new accesses will expand commercial opportunities for thousands of Peruvian producers and agro-exporters, boosting regional economies and strengthening the presence of Peruvian food in increasingly demanding markets.
Among the achieved entries for plant-based products, notable mentions include bananas to the Argentine market, Key lime and Tahiti lime to Chile, Peruvian citrus fruits to Venezuela, chia seeds to Malaysia, blueberry plants to Brazil, wax flower to Costa Rica, and citrus plants to Paraguay.
In the livestock sector, Senasa secured market entry for bee honey to Paraguay and sanitary authorization to export poultry and pork meat products to Singapore, one of Asia's most competitive markets.
Additionally, the export of fertile chicken and turkey eggs, as well as one-day-old breeder chickens and turkeys, was enabled for Ecuador; pet food for Guatemala and Argentina; and frozen equine semen and embryos also for Argentina.
In 2025 alone, the country achieved a historic record by exporting 540 agricultural products to 115 international markets, exceeding 3 million tons exported.
Senasa highlighted that it continues to drive sanitary and phytosanitary negotiations with strategic markets such as China, Japan, Vietnam, Chile, Cuba, Taiwan, and New Zealand, with the aim of further expanding Peru's exportable offerings and consolidating the international positioning of Peruvian agricultural products.
