The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy of the Nation reports that national fishery sector exports experienced a year-on-year growth of 32% in value, totaling 867 million dollars, and 28% in volume, totaling 249,412 tons, during the first quarter of 2026, according to data processed by the Undersecretariat of Aquatic Resources and Fisheries based on INDEC data.
Some products whose external sales showed significant volume increases include: frozen crustaceans (+20%); frozen mollusks (+43%); fresh or refrigerated fish (+45%); and fish preparations and preserves (+27%).
The main destinations were the United States, China, Spain, and Brazil.
It is worth noting that this result for the fishery sector in terms of exports demonstrates a vital complex regarding the genuine entry of foreign currency, consolidating itself as a key player within Argentine foreign trade and positioning our country as a strategic global supplier of seafood products.
