Ecuadorian state oil company Petroecuador has awarded the export of 2.88 million barrels of Oriente and Napo crude oil, in an operation that reaffirms the relevance of the hydrocarbon sector for the national economy and international energy markets. Deliveries will be made between July and August to buying companies in the Asian market.
The company reported that 1.44 million barrels of Oriente crude were awarded to Petrochina International, while an equivalent volume of Napo crude will be exported to Unipec America. The process saw the participation of over 35 qualified companies, reflecting the international market's interest in Ecuadorian oil.
Oil exports continue to be one of Ecuador's main sources of income and play a strategic role in the country's foreign trade. Likewise, it strengthens activities linked to the hydrocarbon export chain, maritime connectivity, and the country's international trade.
