The Empresa Portuaria Austral (EPAustral) officially announced the departure of Miguel Palma Morales from the general management, who had joined the state-owned company in February 2024.
Through an Essential Fact issued to the Commission for the Financial Market (CMF), the company stated that "on July 8, 2026, in board session No. 671, it was agreed to remove the general manager of Empresa Portuaria Austral, effective July 9, 2026."
"Furthermore, in the session on July 8, 2026, it was agreed to appoint Ms. Marcela Yanet Mansilla Velásquez as interim general manager of Empresa Portuaria Austral," the document indicated.
Palma's departure occurs shortly after a new board of directors arrived at EPAustral for the period corresponding to the years 2026 – 2029, which is now composed of its president, José Miguel Cruz, and directors Marcelo Silva and Daniela Arecheta.
