The clipper cruise ship Star Flyer of Star Clippers has completed its spring 2026 season with a voyage to Egyptian ports, calling at Alexandria, Port Said and Safaga between June 26 and 30. The sailing, operated with support from Gulf Agency (Egypt), carried 103 passengers during the ship's visit to the region.
During the Egyptian itinerary, guests participated in shore excursions covering several of the country's historic destinations, including Cairo, Alexandria, Port Said and Luxor. The programme combined maritime travel with visits to archaeological, cultural and heritage sites along the Nile Valley and Mediterranean coast.
Measuring 115 metres in length, Star Flyer combines the design character of a traditional 19th-century clipper with the amenities of a contemporary luxury sailing vessel. The ship's tall sailing rig, open-air decks and suite accommodation form the basis of Star Clippers' sailing-focused cruise concept, blending traditional seamanship with modern hospitality.
The vessel's Egyptian calls continue a long-standing relationship between Star Clippers and the country's cruise sector. The company has maintained Egyptian ports within its itineraries over the years, including during periods when regional operating conditions presented additional challenges for cruise operators.
Following the completion of the Egyptian segment, Star Flyer continued its scheduled Mediterranean and Red Sea programme, including further regional navigation between Safaga and subsequent destinations. Egyptian maritime authorities and cruise industry representatives have indicated that further calls by sailing vessels and cruise ships remain part of efforts to expand the country's cruise tourism activity.
