Ponant Explorations is launching a new Caribbean itinerary for 2028, with four departures from La Romana in the Dominican Republic to Nassau in the Bahamas.
The sailing marks a new step for the company as its first expedition-style voyage exploring the lesser-visited side of the Caribbean.
The company said the new itinerary, developed by José Sarica, Ponant's director of expedition experience research and development, is the result of extensive scouting across the northern Caribbean.
The line's expedition team worked with local communities and regional partners to shape the voyage, which includes exclusive access to Monte Cristi in the Dominican Republic, where Ponant will be the first cruise brand to call.
Sailing aboard Le Champlain in January and February 2028, the seven-night Jewels of the Northern Caribbean cruise will visit three countries. Highlights include exploring the world's third-largest barrier reef in the Turks and Caicos Islands and visiting Staniel Cay in the Bahamas, with a chance to swim with the island's wild pigs.
Departures are scheduled for January 12, 19, and 26 and February 2, 2028.
