(11:40 a.m. EDT) — Antara Cruises has resumed India–Bangladesh river cruises following major enhancements to its ship, MV Ganga Vilas.
Launched in 2023, the reimagined vessel now features what the company says is the first open-air sun deck pool on a river cruise vessel sailing on the Ganges.
"Luxury is about constantly evolving the guest experience," said Raj Singh, founder and chairman of Antara Cruises.
"At Antara Cruises, our endeavour has always been to offer experiences that meet and exceed global standards. The addition of an open-air pool on Ganga Vilas is another step towards redefining luxury river cruising in India and reinforcing our commitment to providing world-class facilities and exceptional hospitality."
Bookings are now open for Varanasi–Kolkata cruises, sailing in late 2026, with India–Bangladesh departures available for 2027.
Itineraries offer guests access to destinations and cultural experiences that are not accessible by land. Travelers will explore two countries, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, wildlife habitats and riverside communities.
