Disney Cruise Line and Huna Totem Corp. signed a 15-year agreement securing preferential access at Alaska's Icy Strait Point, ensuring Disney ships will continue visiting the destination through at least 2041.
Situated on the shores of Hoonah, Icy Strait Point offers a connection to Huna Tlingit culture alongside wildlife viewing and outdoor recreation. The indigenous-owned cruise destination is Hoonah's largest employer.
"Disney Cruise Line has been an important part of the Icy Strait Point story for nearly a decade, and we're grateful to build on that relationship through this agreement," said Howard Sherman, Huna Totem Tourism Group president. "Each Disney Cruise Line visit helps support local jobs, businesses and economic opportunity in Hoonah while creating meaningful connections between guests and the people who call this place home."
The agreement secures preferential docking for one vessel each week and includes a minimum annual passenger guarantee that was not specified. Seatrade Cruise News requested information from both parties and will update this story with numbers if possible.
Icy Strait has two piers: Ocean Landing and Wildernes Landing.
Disney Cruise Line expanded its Alaska presence in 2026 to two ships, with select seven-night itineraries aboard Disney Magic and Disney Wonder calling at Icy Strait Point.
"Icy Strait Point has been a valued part of our Alaska itineraries for nearly a decade, offering Disney Cruise Line guests an opportunity to experience the natural beauty, wildlife and rich cultural heritage of Hoonah and the broader Southeast Alaska region," said Jose Fernandez, VP port strategy, development & operations, Disney Cruise Line. "This agreement will help ensure our guests can continue to enjoy the unique experiences that have made Icy Strait Point a fan-favorite destination."
