Murray River Paddlesteamers' Australian Star will make her inaugural cruise from the company's home base in Echuca on the border of Victoria and New South Wales on September 18.
As reported by Seatrade Cruise News, it had earlier been set for February this year.
Billed as the largest wood-fired paddlesteamer in the Southern Hemisphere and the world's only five-star paddlesteamer, the 38-passenger Australian Star, part of the APT Travel Group, will operate year-round three-, four- and seven-night cruises along the Murray River from Echuca.
Shore excursions include visits to farms, wineries and heritage towns and riverside barbecues by campfires at night.
The full 2028 programme has been released to meet demand and the fare for a three-night cruise, including a A$250 early bird discount per person if booked by September 30, costs from A$3,125 per person twin-share.
Passengers on a seven-night cruise receive a complimentary pre-cruise night at the Mercure Port of Echuca motel.
The fare includes return rail travel between Melbourne and Echuca, transfers, excursions, gratuities, Wi-Fi, beer and wine with dinner and soft drinks, bottled water and tea and coffee throughout the cruise.
