APM Terminals announced the start of works for Phase 3B of the Modernization Project for the North Multipurpose Terminal at the Port of Callao.
"As partners of the Peruvian State and in line with our commitment to continue strengthening the country's port infrastructure and enhancing our services, we announce the start of works corresponding to Phase 3B of the North Multipurpose Terminal Modernization Project," stated the concessionaire.
APM Terminals added that "as part of our preparation for this new phase of modernization, we have executed complementary investments (pipelines) and advanced investments with three areas for ERTG, three ERTG equipment units, one STS crane, and the completion of Phase 3A. These actions allow us to begin the works with the necessary conditions to maintain the operational continuity of the terminal."
The concessionaire indicated that, with the aim of guaranteeing a safe and efficient execution of the works, in coordination with the relevant authorities, new berth assignments will not be made at the following positions at Pier 4 starting June 6 and at 5C from June 10.
Phase 3B involves an investment of USD 550 million and will be completed within a period of 3 years, allowing for the strengthening of the terminal's operational capacity, increasing port efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness in service of Peruvian foreign trade.
