Hapag-Lloyd Peru: "We fell 7% [in ebit], but operating profit is healthy"
Diego Galindo, CEO of Hapag-Lloyd Peru, explained that operations in Peru and Latin America registered a 7% drop in ebit during the first quarter, although operating profit remains healthy. The Hapag-Lloyd group lost US$256 million globally, with freight rates falling by an average of 10%. The company redesigned its MSW route to the Mediterranean, now departing from Callao, and implemented tracking equipment across its entire fleet.
