The Port of Barcelona will participate in the 28th edition of the International Logistics Exhibition (SIL 2026), which will be held from June 3 to 5 at the Montjuïc venue (Palau 8, stand D466) of Fira de Barcelona. Once again, the Port's stand will become a meeting point where professionals, companies, and institutions from the transport and logistics sectors can learn firsthand and discuss the major projects being promoted by the Port of Barcelona and its Port Community.
This year, the co-exhibitors at the Port's stand are: the Association of Ship Consignees of Barcelona, the Association of Port Stevedoring Companies of Barcelona, ATEIA-OLTRA Barcelona, the Official College of Customs Agents and Customs Representatives of Barcelona, CILSA, WTCB, the Escola Europea-Intermodal Transport, the Barcelona Port Innovation Foundation, and the Cares Foundation.
This year's program, titled "Driving the Port of 2030", will reflect many of the major short-term challenges that the Port of Barcelona has set for itself, such as innovation and digitalization; sustainability and energy transition; and the development of its V Strategic Plan 2026-2030, as well as the strategic frameworks in state and European ports. Many of the different presentations and round tables that will take place in the Agora of the Port's stand will feature the participation of co-exhibitors as well as Puertos del Estado (Spanish State Ports).
Highlights include the presentation of the Port of Barcelona's Strategic Plan 2026-2030 and a round table dedicated to analyzing new regulatory frameworks and their impact on port management: the recent EU Port Strategy, approved by the European Commission last March; and the Strategic Framework launched by Puertos del Estado.
Innovation will also have a prominent presence with presentations dedicated to explaining how artificial intelligence (AI) is facilitating decision-making, operational efficiency, and competitiveness in the Port of Barcelona, and how data management is improving the management of logistics hubs; and with a round table dedicated to discussing how institutions, operators, and technology companies can guarantee port cyber-resilience.
The presentation of the Port of Barcelona's Energy Transition Plan and three of its main projects – the promotion of hydrogen as a strategic energy vector, the deployment of photovoltaic generation, and the strategy for developing the supply chain for alternative fuels – will focus on environmental topics, complemented by the example of the pioneering project for the use of regenerated water in Port Vell.
Other notable activities include presentations on AI applications in customs management; the design of digital green corridors through the use of digital twins and the presentation of the Port of Barcelona's digital twin, accessible with virtual reality glasses, to visualize real-time operational data and decarbonization projects. This immersive and interactive activity will be available during the first two days.
