First Bioethanol Bunkering for Deep-Sea Containership Completed in Santos
CMA CGM IRON received bioethanol at the Port of Santos on July 12, 2026, marking the first bunkering operation of its kind for a deep-sea containership in Brazil. The 13,000 TEU tri-fuel certified vessel was supplied through collaboration between CMA CGM, Copersucar, AGEO, Santos Brazil, and Bunker One. The operation demonstrates bioethanol's viability as a renewable marine fuel and positions Brazil as a hub for sustainable shipping solutions.
