Port of Ilhéus mobilizes 35,000 tons in simultaneous operation with two vessels
The Port of Ilhéus concluded a simultaneous cargo handling operation involving two vessels and 35,000 tons of products: 20,000 tons of nickel and 15,200 tons of crude magnesite. The magnesite, produced by RHI Magnesita from Brumado, was transported on the MV Nord Copenhagen to the Port of Ghent, Belgium, while the nickel traveled on the MV Eco Nemesis to Finland. The terminal projects to initially handle 100,000 tons of magnesite annually, with the possibility of reaching 150,000 tons starting in 2028.
